Meeting with Andrew Donovan from Australia Council for the Arts
On June 25, 2009, the Inter-Arts Office at the Canada Council hosted an informal gathering to welcome the Australia Council’s Inter-Arts Office director, Andrew Donovan. Held at the Cinémathèque québecoise in Montreal, the meeting was informative and enlightening; in addition to having outlined a summary of the Australia Council’s current preoccupations within the interdisciplinary arts, Mr. Donovan’s short presentation alerted us to a handful of provocative and innovative projects being carried out across Australia.

How do we recognize the energy that connects and propels us?
Is it the technologically produced electricity that is transmitted through transformers and grids, powering our homes, offices, and social lives?
Or is it the physiological system of impulses produced by the network of billions of nerve cells in our body’s circuitry?
