Theme 2010
Let it be known… 2010 will be a festive Edition!
For the 15th Edition of Nuit Blanche sur Tableau Noir, artists and Montrealers are invited to highlight the arrival of summer in an atmosphere of celebration, which will unfold in its many forms along Mont-Royal Avenue. Nuit Blanche sur Tableau Noir will be the perfect occasion to celebrate the summer holidays in the spirit of "living together" and it promises to be a large public event involving much creativity and expressiveness. This is a great opportunity to take advantage of our public spaces as they pulsate with exuberance and improvisation.
Whether religious, patriotic, familial or public (on a large scale), this event encourages a free and playful expression of collective identity including the reversal of established values, even if only ephemerally. The event, the moment of universal passage, like a gatherer with a strong symbolic resonance, is the occasion to break through the collective imagination towards universes which blend and unite the everyday, the magical, the excessive, the marvelous and the forbidden.
The Great Nocturnal Fresco
Whether you're into raves or dance hall, neighbourly picnicking, or Mardi Gras, the organizers invite you to submit a sketch for The Great Nocturnal Fresco inspired by the theme of the event. In an enormous collective happening the festival is also a reflection of our social lives - propositions should explore the many possible forms of the event. We invite you to highlight, express, suggest and to strive for originality, playfulness, fantasy and utopia?
Let’s go…. let’s have a ball!
The deadline for submission of your proposal portfolio is at 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 12th, 2010.
