Christie Pearson
Artist, writer and architect Christie Pearson enjoys working in collaboration to produce interdisciplinary events, performances and installations which amplify our bodies’ relation to our natural and constructed environments (www.christiepearson.ca)
Work engages the disciplines of architecture, sculpture, installation, urbanism, poetry, ritual, and the art of living. Installations and events speak of renewal through the personal and collective shedding of skins. Underlying inquiries include: the relation of my body to the collective body politic; architectural and urban space as a projected vessel; water's sacred and profane aspects in an age of toxicity; and public bathing as an intersection of the private and public.
She is the co-founder of the WADE festival of installation and performance art(www.wadetoronto.com); produces sound events with THE WAVES (www.thewaves.ca); and is a member of the performance collective URBANVESSEL (www.urbanvessel.com).
