The artists within this show, Ivette Aghajani, Eugenie Davis,
Shlomi Greenspan, Nathaniel Hurtubise, Megan A. Skyvington,
and Jarrod Wilson produce work which explores architectural
forms and space as points of personal reference, whether
referring to a personal memory or to a geographical location.
The idea of space as a referent indicates an interest in the
search for individual identities and a sense of place within a
system which perceives space as property and wealth.

Montreal, January 26, 2010 – The MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels) is proud to present Brendan Fernandes’ solo exhibition Haraka Haraka from February 4 to March 13. The international artist presents three recent video works that critically explore the experience of hybrid identity, diasporic memory, and migration.

L'Homme-Foule, c’est un voyage dans l'univers du détail, le portrait fantaisiste d'une fraction de quotidien, le jeu des perceptions. Ce sont des performeurs venus de maints horizons (musique, électroacoustique, sculpture, théâtre, vidéo et d’autres encore) mis en scène parmi un bordel organisé d’objets.

As a photographer my passion is for people with a passion! The
worlds greatest ideas and innovations come from the minds of
people that love what they do. And people that love what they
do are great at what they do.

My goal as a photographer is not only to find and showcase
creative and innovative works, but to document the person
behind the work to add the story, the character, and the person
