Le festival des arts sans frontières

Cette année encore, pour leur 7ème édition, la programmation des Escales Improbables sera osée, déroutante et relevée. Danse, musique, performances, arts visuels, théâtre envahiront les Quais du Vieux-Port et trois salles du centre-ville, du 8 au 12 septembre 2010.
Avec 45 représentations et 70 artistes venus d’ici et d’ailleurs, le public est convié a un étonnant parcours d’une grande liberté artistique, à une balade pour se remplir les yeux et les oreilles, pour une découverte à son rythme et à son gré.

AGO Opens Major Julian Schnabel Exhibition September 1st

American art superstar Julian Schnabel has spent his life pushing the limits of painting and crossing artistic boundaries as an award-winning filmmaker. Now, for the first time, a major retrospective examines the connections between painting and film in Schnabel’s work, tracing how his paintings exist in dialogue with the cinema and revealing the rich interplay between the two media.

'smokn n public a comms breakdwn so 2 spk' sings the lyrics to the Led Zeppelin song 'Communication Breakdown' by way of Morse code smoke signals. This work continues Beal's interest in public discourse, self expression and mutual understanding. Or in this case misunderstanding.
The artists wishes to thank Adam Brown and Wes Hatch for their time and expertise in assisting with the realization of this project.
